WARM
AIR HEATING
The warm
air heater would usually be open flued and installed in a compartment
at a central location within the property to keep ducting lengths to a minimum. A
warm air heater is connected via ducting to outlets situated in
relevant positions around the home. Heated air passes through this
ductwork and into the rooms via adjustable, louvred outlets.
Warm
Air heating works by drawing cold air into the appliance where it is
blown across a heat exchanger by an electric fan. This heated air
is then circulated around the property by way of ducts allowing the
warmed air to pass into the rooms. The cooled air is then drawn
back to the appliance, via return ducts, where the process repeats
itself.

Warm air outlets can provide
energy outputs that are comparable to those of radiators.
Although
Abacus Gas Engineers do not supply or install warm air systems, we do
repair and service domestic warm air appliances as well as all necessary
safety inspections and certification for Landlords and Homeowners.
From
April 2002, changes in the Building Regulations effect how your
installer replaces your boiler/cylinder or makes changes to your heating
controls.
